Even if American attorneys never step outside of the United States, the global viewpoint they need to have can be found at The University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
The school recently revolutionized their international studies curriculum to involve a series of casebooks, which are used to help illustrate international comparative law. Other schools using the books include Brooklyn Law School, Drake University School of Law, Fordham University School of Law, Lewis & Clark Law School, and University of Alabama School of Law.
“Our approach means that you don’t have to wait for an elective in order to get into these topics,” said Professor Julie Anne Davies, co-author of a global casebook. “It helps students to better understand their own legal system.”
