Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law named Melodye Hendrix as its new Senior Director of Development. Hendrix’s responsibilities will include: overseeing development, alumni relations, and communications, along with all aspects of fundraising, the annual fund and major gifts for the law school. Before Hendrix came to Campbell she was Director of Development at Duke University School of Medicine. She also spent time at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, was a corporate spokesperson for Progress Energy, worked in health care marketing and communications, and was a television news reporter. Hendrix earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting and a master’s degree in interpersonal communication from University of Central Florida.

Elon University School of Law recently added Peter T. Hoffman to their faculty as Professor of Law and Director of Legal Skills. Hoffman served as the Newell H. Blakely Chair in Evidence at the University of Houston Law Center, was a faculty member at the University of Nebraska College of Law, and served as the Program Director for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. Prior to that, Hofffman was an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Palau, was a Chair of the American Association of Law Schools Section on Clinical Education, and practiced law in Chicago. Hoffman taught at the City University of Hong Kong, University of San Diego, Washington University-Saint Louis School of Law, University of Michigan School of Law, Chinese University Law School in Hong Kong, and West Bengal National University of Juridical Science in Kolkata, India. Hoffman holds a B.S. from Michigan State University and a J.D. from the University of Michigan School of Law.

Northeastern University School of Law has appointed Luke Bierman as Associate Dean for Experiential Education and Distinguished Professor of the Practice of Law. Bierman will oversee the school’s Cooperative Legal Education Program and six clinics. Prior to accepting the post at Northeastern, Bierman worked for the New York state comptroller, served as the founding director of the Justice Center and special assistant to the ABA president, was executive director of the Institute for Emerging Issues at North Carolina State University, and was chief attorney of the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division. Bierman also has experience as a professor at Albany Law School, Northwestern University School of Law, North Carolina State University and Trinity College in Hartford. Bierman holds a bachelor’s from Colgate University, master’s and PhD from the State University of New York at Albany, and a J.D. from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary.
