Vermont Law School, the only law school in the state, offers the nation’s premier environmental law program and top-ranked clinical training opportunities.
The school’s Environmental Law Center, established in 1978, offers more than 50 courses related to the environment and environmental law, more than any other law school in the U.S. It also has four environmental law clinics: the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Clinic, Energy Clinic, Food and Agriculture Clinic and Land Use Clinic. The school’s environmental Summer Session, which offers 25 classes taught by 44 faculty, is world-renowned.
Vermont Law School also has a dynamic distance-learning program, giving students flexibility as they pursue their degree, and a wide range of experiential learning opportunities at its South Royalton Legal Clinic (poverty law clinic), Criminal Law Clinic, Dispute Resolution Clinic and Legislative Clinic, in addition to the above-mentioned environmental law clinics, as well as externship and Semester-In-Practice opportunities.
