Arizona Summit Law School, a for-profit law school, is also one of the fastest-growing schools in the nation.

“We have such an emphasis on practice readiness,” Dean Shirley Mays said. “We don’t have a separate clinical faculty like other schools. We have a faculty who is grounded in practical experience. Together our faculty has over 500 years of practice experience, so our full-time faculty are the people who teach in our clinics.”

Arizona Summit, previously known as Phoenix School of Law, is a part of The InfiLaw System, a group of three independent law schools.

“One of the great opportunities of the InfiLaw consortium is the ability to be very nimble and to be able to look at an issue or problem and create a solution and implement it quite quickly,” she said.

That focus has helped the school put together a recipe for success.

“We have created a science of success class [which] is integrated into the bar preparation course,” Mays said.

Despite more than 940 students, Arizona Summit offers small class sizes. The typical first-year class includes 48 students, smaller than most in the region.
