Across the river from Cincinnati, in Highland Heights, Ky., sits Northern Kentucky University – Salmon P. Chase College of Law, a school focused on practice-ready skills.

“All of legal education is moving towards experiential learning and creating practice-ready lawyers,” said Dean Jeffrey Standen. “What’s fun for us is that Chase has always been there. We have long featured and specialized in experiential training and producing lawyers that are practice-ready. We aren’t inventing this last week. We have been doing this for generations.”

Northern Kentucky University caters to the needs of locals with the lowest tuition in the region for residents: $15,782. It also has a large part-time program, with one-third of its students in it.

“Our alums are immensely successful people,” Standen said. “They talk about how Chase made them ready for the practice of law.”
