Florida A&M still in accreditation jeopardy; Denver launches employment stat site

It was a BAD week for…

Florida A&M University College of Law, after the American Bar Association sent the school a second warning regarding its accreditation. The ABA’s warning indicated that it was still concerned the law school did not meet the necessary standards to remain accredited. The law school received a list of areas to improve upon in February from the ABA. Florida A&M University has since made many improvements, demonstrating compliance with many of the areas where it initially fell short. However, the ABA remains unconvinced that students at the law school are prepared well enough to take the Florida Bar Examination.

People who love numbers, after the University of Denver launched a website that allows users to review employment data for law schools in various different formats. Educating Tomorrow’s Lawyers is pre-programmed with formulas created by NALP, U.S. News and The National Jurist to measure a school’s employment rate. Users can also create their own formula, and compare schools in a region, state, etc.
