CasebookPlus, a new casebook option that provides digital tools, offers law students traditional print casebook along with access to the downloadable eBook and a 12-month digital subscription to the compnay’s Learning Library.

“We designed CasebookPlus with student learning in mind. It provides students with digital tools they need to gain a deeper understanding of the subject matter and succeed in class,” said West Academic President & CEO Chris Parton. “We plan to make CasebookPlus an option for most of our titles in 1L and bar-required subjects.”

CasebookPlus is available with more than 40 Foundation Press and West Academic Publishing casebook titles. It includes faculty-authored self-assessment quizzes tied to the casebook, including links to explanations from the West Academic Publishing Hornbook Series; study aids like those in the Nutshell, Acing, and ExamPro series; a personal outline starter; and a Gilbert Law Dictionary.

“We tested CasebookPlus with hundreds of students and I was delighted with the positive feedback we received from them and from their professors,” said Vice President and Publisher Pamela Siege Chandler. “Students found the self-assessment questions helped them gauge their knowledge of the material, so they knew what to focus on as they prepared for class and studied for exams. And their professors appreciated that their students were quizzing themselves with top-quality questions authored by experts in the field.”

Flexibility and affordability are important aspects of West Academic’s CasebookPlus program. Students can purchase the CasebookPlus option and receive the print book, the eBook and the Learning Library. Alternatively they can purchase the eBook and Learning Library together or the Learning Library all on its own.

These options allow students to tailor CasebookPlus to their budgets and studying preferences,Parton said.
