Cal Western recognized for community service

California Western School of Law was added to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll with Distinction in recognition of the school’s spirit of service and volunteerism.

“It is a great honor to be recognized by the President for the many ways in which the California Western family contributes to the San Diego community,” said Dean Steven R. Smith.

Among these contributions are the Community Law Project, which offers students’ legal services to homeless and financially disadvantaged people in San Diego, and the Pro Bono Program, which engages students in pro bono service to non-profit organizations.

Past recipients of the Honor Roll with Distinction include Duke University, Georgetown University, and Cornell University. Cal Western is one of just 16 institutions in California that received the President’s honor.
