Thomas M. Cooley Law School is expanding offerings at its Tampa Bay, Fla. campus, which opened a year ago.
To support additional courses, it has hired several new adjunct professors — including local attorneys Brent Rose and Joseph Parrish, and two 13th circuit judges, the Hon. Martha J. Cook and the Hon. Peter (Nick) Nazaretian. Additionally, current Cooley adjunct professor Renalia Smith DuBose, of Plant City, Fla., will join the school’s full-time faculty as a visiting professor.
“When we opened our doors one year ago, we offered only evening classes,” said Jeff Martlew, associate dean at Cooley Law School’s Tampa Bay campus. “Since then we have added morning and afternoon classes, and we’re excited to continue expanding our educational offerings by bringing more talented attorneys and judges to Cooley.”
Rose, a litigation attorney, will teach courses in negotiation and confrontation. Parrish is a solo practitioner with experience in transportation negligence, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, product liability, premises liability, defamation, and professional liability legislation. He will teach law office management. Cook, who will teach alternative dispute resolution, is assigned to the criminal felony division of the 13th Judicial Circuit. Nazaretian, who is assigned to the family law division of the 13th Judicial Circuit, will join Cooley’s adjunct faculty teaching courses in family law. DuBose will teach courses in contracts and sales.
