Florida International launches LL.M.

Florida International University is launching a new LL.M. program for foreign attorneys, with classes starting in Fall 2014. The Master of Laws program is only available to candidates who have completed a law degree outside of the United States.

The LL.M. does not have subject specialties, and courses taken by LL.M. students will be determined on an individual basis with a faculty adviser based on the interests of the student.

The curriculum can also be tailored for students who intend to take the New York Bar after completion.

An English proficiency exam is required for admission to this program, however, the LSAT exam is not.

The FIU LL.M. graduate has studied law in the United States in English and knows not only the content of United States law but also the daily life and culture of the country from personal experience.
