Hofstra launches IP center

Hofstra University, Maurice A. Deane School of Law has launched its Center for Intellectual Property Law, which is led by Professor Irina Manta. The new center will house Hofstra Law’s existing numerous intellectual property opportunities and serve as a forum for research into the field.

Hofstra Law graduated the first students in its IP Law Honors concentration in 2014, and it hosted its third IP Colloquium in the fall. Hofstra is also running a one-on-one IP Mentorship Program.

The new center employs two special assistants who help promote its activities. This fall, it will draw from the incoming first-year class to select the first group of IP Law Honors Fellows. Students will have a demonstrated interest in IP and a high level of achievement. The fellows will be actively involved in the life of the center and will receive tailored mentoring to meet their career goals.
