It was GOOD week for the status quo, after Vault released its annual ranking of the most prestigious law firms. Only one firm, Kirkland & Ellis, moved up in the top ten. Kirkland was also the only firm from outside of New York City.
Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz led the list, followed by Cravath, Swaine & Moore, and then Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. Wachtell and Cravath have been the top two firms since Vault started the ranking in 2007.
Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, based in Los Angeles, was the only firm on the list in the top 20 from the west coast.
