The scholarship was made possible by a $300,000 gift pledged through the Sean and Lou Claggett Charitable Foundation by alumni Sean and Lou Claggett. The donation sets a record as the largest gift from an individual law alumnus and family in the law school’s history.

The first recipient will be awarded during the 2026-27 academic year.

The Claggetts grew up in Las Vegas, met at Clark High School and have successfully built their firm, Claggett & Sykes, in the city over the past two decades. For them, this gift is a personal commitment to the community that shaped them.

“We believe it’s necessary to help hard-working students from our hometown succeed and thrive, regardless of their financial circumstances,” Lou Claggett said.
