University of Idaho 2L sues campus over gun restrictions

University of Idaho College of Law student Aaron Tribble filed a lawsuit claiming that campus gun restrictions violate his Second Amendment rights.

Tribble, a second year student, lives in an off-campus apartment with his family and believes he should be allowed to keep firearms in his residence. The ABA Journal reports that the residence is “university housing for married students.”

He has stated that UI’s policy banning firearms from campus, including his off-campus housing, is a direct violation of his rights. The university has declined to comment.

Students are allowed to keep and check out guns at the police station on the campus, but firearms can’t be kept in campus apartments, reports the ABA Journal.

Tribble is said to be representing himself in the lawsuit, according to the Moscow-Pullman Daily News Online.
