CUNY asks students to not take bar; Harvard names bathroom after alumnus

Donation humor after Harvard unveiled its new building, complete with a bathroom named after an alumnus. Wasserstein Hall includes the Falik Men’s Room, named after Harvard grad and UC-Berkeley law professor William Falik. Falik told Above the Law that his name had limited naming opportunities, so he suggested a bathroom. Elena Kagan, dean at the time, loved the idea.

Helping students with bad grades after CUNY Law School was accused of offering a bribe to struggling students to not take the bar exam this summer, and instead spend another semester at the school. Upset students felt it was an effort to boost the school’s bar pass rate, which dropped to 67 percent this past year. Schools can face sanctions from the ABA if they have consecutive bar pass rates below 75 percent. CUNY said it is merely trying to help students who are most at risk of failing the bar exam.
