Working Mother magazine named four law firms to their national 100 Best Companies list. Arnold & Porter, Covington & Burling, Katten Muchin Rosenman and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman were the only four law firms in the list offering “better benefits than ever before, eclipsing their counterparts nationwide.” With 70 percent of mothers working — and women outnumbering men in the workplace for the first time in U.S. history — working moms have come a long way.
“The immense influx of women into the workforce demanded changes in workplace culture as companies strove to keep working moms’ talent and loyalty,” said Carol Evans, president of Working Mother Media.
The magazine highlights companies that revolutionize work/life balance for moms and their families.
The four law firms offer expanding benefits including telecommuting, mentoring, health insurance for part-timers and flextime. All 100 companies, including the four law firms, offer paid maternity leave, lactation rooms, mental health consultations and elder-care resources.
