Congeniality among law professors, when a back and forth blog exchange turned ugly and eventually led to the unveiling of the anonymous “ScamProf” blogger as Paul Campos, a tenured law professor at University of Colorado.
Campos had anonymously accused his colleagues in legal education of scamming law students. University of Chicago law professor Brian Leiter had then written that he knew the identity of “ScamProf” and he said he had a poor academic reputation.
“ScamProf is the failed academic who has done almost no scholarly work in the last decade … and spends his time trying to attract public attention, sometimes under his own name, this time anonymous,” Leiter wrote.
Campos responded with a sarcastic blog post about Leiter’s esoteric research on issues like in ‘Rorty and the Philosophical Tradition: Comment on Professor Szubka’. It was that response that outed the anonymous professor, as he provided a link to a paper he had written.
