Susan Blakely candidly discusses the choices and issues that women confront in the legal profession in her new book, “Best Friends at the Bar: What Women Need to Know about a Career in the Law,” released by Aspen Publishers.
Blakely takes a realistic look, with personal testimonies of her own and from contributors, at both the opportunities and challenges encountered by women in their careers. More than 60 contributors participated, including judges, lawyers, law school career counselors and managing partners of national and international firms.
Blakely graduated from the University of Wisconsin and Georgetown University Law Center. She has 25 years of experience as a practitioner in both private law firms and the public sector.
