Law students in Mississippi, after Matt Leichter, who writes the blog, Law School Tuition Bubble, reported that there are more than 10 graduates in the state for every projected job opening. Leichter pulled his graduate data from the ABA and his employment projections from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Other states at the top of the bad list include Michigan, Delaware, Nebraska and Vermont. Overall, his data shows 44,495 ABA law grads for 21,200 positions.

Law students who want to work in the west, after Leichter’s analysis showed that the Rocky Mountains and the Far West have the lowest number of law students per open positions. Alaska, Wyoming and Nevada are not even producing enough graduates. Alaska, of course, does not even have a law school. The data does not account for the fact that many graduates do not work in the state where they go to school.
