Surviving law school from A to Z

Incoming law students will grow weak at the knees with the “Law School Survival Manual: From LSAT to Bar Exam,” which simplifies the stresses and perplexities of law school. The manual, authored by Nancy B. Rapoport and Jeffrey D. Van Niel, provides witty guidance through the entirety of a law student’s journey.

The book offers step-by-step guidance for young law students and lawyers, beginning with advice even before they step foot into an institution of legal learning. Rapoport and Van Niel cover everything from law school applications to choosing courses and finding a summer internship.

Rapoport, the authority on law school success, is the Gordon Silver Professor at the William S. Boyd School of Law, University of Nevada, Las Vegas. After attending Stanford Law School, she began her academic career at The Ohio State University College of Law before serving as Dean at both the University of Nebraska College of Law and the University of Houston aw Center. In addition to her experience in legal academia, Rapoport is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy.

Van Niel received his J.D. from Capital University Law School before serving in the Ohio Attorney General’s Public Utilities Commission Practice Group. He is admitted to the bars of the states of Ohio, Nebraska, Texas and Nevada, and served as a former bar examiner in Ohio.
