Thomas Jefferson launches LL.M. in Practice Skills

Thomas Jefferson School of Law, located in San Diego, Calif., will launch an LL.M. program in Practice Skills, which will allow students to develop important legal skills. These skills will include client interaction, document drafting, negotiating, litigating, and running a law firm.

The LL.M.’s curriculum will cover a variety of legal topics, with classes like Negotiation Theory & Skills, Law Practice Management, Deposition Practice, and Litigation & Technology. Students will also have the opportunity to complete an externship during the program. Courses will either simulate or engage students directly in a real-world environment, with multiple opportunities for performance, feedback, and self-evaluation.

The new LL.M. will offer specializations in Transactional Law,Civil Litigation and Criminal Practice.

The program is 24 units, with 14 units forming one of the three core areas and the remaining 10 as electives. Core and elective courses do not need to be taken in a particular order.
