UCLA offers tuition guarantee

It was a GOOD week for incoming students at the UCLA School of Law, after the university announced a tuition guarantee for residents for the next three academic years.

Tuition and fees will not exceed $45,500 for the 2016-2017 academic year, $46,000 for the 2017-2018, and $46,500 for the 2018-2019 academic years.

The guarantee does not apply to current students, but the school said tuition and fees are expected to increase only minimally. The University of California Board of Regents votes on all tuition increases.

But if the regents do increase tuition, the law school would use funding from private sources to offer scholarships and cover extra costs.

Law school tuition for California residents has been nearly flat since the 2012-2013 academic year.
