USD School of Law expands presence in India

University of San Diego School of Law is expanding its presence in India as cross-border legal work drives demand for lawyers trained in corporate, tax and arbitration matters.

GradRight — the school’s official higher education partner in India — will lead USD School of Law’s strategic initiatives across the country, with partnerships designed to support both immediate and long-term career opportunities for Indian lawyers.

USD School of Law Dean Robert Schapiro recently traveled to India, where he met with eight leading law schools to explore academic partnerships and collaborative initiatives aimed at providing foreign-trained Indian lawyers with opportunities beyond traditional pathways.

“These programs reflect our strong commitment to engaging with India’s vibrant legal and business community,” he said. “We are eager to foster educational partnerships that prepare students to think critically, act ethically and lead effectively in a rapidly changing global legal environment.”
