Hoping to get a job through on-campus interviews this fall? Don’t fret if you don’t. Just 14.4 percent of law school grads land a job through that traditional hiring process. That’s one of the lowest figures recorded in 21 years, according to data from the National Association for Law Placement.
But if you’re hoping to work for a large law firm, you need to be eagerly engaged in the OCI process. More than 50 percent of students who land big-firm jobs do so through OCI. For other jobs, particularly in government and small law firms, you’ll have better chances through self-initiated contacts or referrals.
